The Club has presented a cheque for €1344 to Stichting Ambulance Wens, after fundraising during the 2024-25 Club year. Kathleen van Velthoven made the presentation on behalf of the Club to the charity’s CEO Kees Veldboer Jnr, on 9 May 2025. Ambulance Wens arranges for terminally-ill patients and their family members to enjoy a ‘last wish’, using specially adapted ambulances with medically-qualified personnel to accompany them.
Funds were raised throughout the year, with a quiz morning, a raffle, a ‘Bargain Bay’ event, book sales, an international lunch and our major fundraiser, the Winter Fair.
Kees thanked all the Members who helped raise funds for this significant donation to Ambulance Wens, and highlighted some of the personal connections between the Stichting and The British Club of The Hague.
