A capacity audience of Members and their guests enjoyed a sparkling recital at the Club on Friday 25 October, given by London-based duo Charis Sykesud and Jack Redman. Their debut on the international stage comprised a virtuoso programme of pieces for violin and piano, mainly from the years of Romanticism. As a contrast to works by composers including Elgar and Schumann, Charis and Jack also played short pieces by Walton and Lennox Berkeley, finishing with the rousing flourish of Bartók’s Romanian Dances.
